ABOUT
MADHUS HISTORY

A trusted name in the tyre business

Mr Madhusudhana Rao started his career as a KEB (Karnataka Electricity Board) linesman in the 1940s. After independence, he had an opportunity to get into business with the establishment of Madhus Mill Stores on HR Street, Mysore. He was a visionary and predicted the growth of the pneumatic tyre market and got into the tyre trade soon after. By the time he passed away in 1974, he had created a brand Madhus that was known throughout South India and sometimes as far away as Calcutta and Punjab. He had 2 tyre stores in Mysore and one in Bangalore by the time he left for his heavenly abode.

After his demise, his 3 sons took over the business. The eldest, Mr Prasanna stayed in Mysore and the second son Mr Ravi BM shifted to Bangalore to run the Bangalore operations. A few years later, the youngest son Mr Prakash finished his education and joined Mr Prasanna in Mysore.

Over the years, the three siblings ran the tyre business grabbing opportunities when they presented themselves.

Today, the Madhus tyre business in Karnataka consists of the following:

1 Tyre store in Mysore run by Mr Prasanna. Madhus Tyres and Service, Saraswathipuram.

3 Tyre stores in Bangalore run by Mr Ravi and his son Mr Nikhil. Madhus Enterprises and Tyre Professionals. Madhus Tyre Center has been closed recently after working for 47 years.

3 Tyre stores in Mysore run by Mr Prakash and his son Mr Amogh. Madhus Mill Stores and Automobiles, Madhus Tyre Care Hunsur Road and Madhus Tyre Care Bamboo Bazaar.

Though all the tyre stores share the same brand name of Madhus, they are all run independently.

About Madhus Enterprises

Madhus Enterprises was started by Mr Ravi in 1981 as a Dunlop Tyre Service Centre.

Madhus Enterprises was the first tyre store in Bangalore to have a computerised Wheel Alignment machine way back in 1984. In 1987, we had the latest equipment imported from Germany.

Madhus Enterprises has always led the market in technology and concept selling. It has been the site of many training sessions conducted by many different companies to showcase the latest technology in wheel service equipment and also new concepts of marketing and selling.

In 2012, Michelin was keen to tie up with Madhus Enterprises. Thus on December 12th 2012, 12/12/12 Madhus Enterprises became Michelin TyrePlus. While the branding is almost exclusively Michelin, we continue to sell tyres of all brands like MRF, Apollo, Yokohama, Goodyear, Pirelli, Continental, to name a few.

We also sell 2 wheeler tyres and tubes for a variety of bikes from the entry level scooters like Honda Activa to the high end Kawasaki Ninjas, KTMs, Triumphs and Ducatis.

We also offer a range of services like Hunter 3D Wheel Alignment, Hunter Road Force Balancing, Hunter Tyre Changing, AC Recharging and Nitrogen Inflation.

About Tyre Professionals

Tyre Professionals was started by Mrs Meera Ravi with the support and backing from Mr. Ravi. It was planned to be a different concept from Day One and Mrs Meera Ravi wanted to keep it independent from the rest of the Madhus group. Mrs Meera had started her tyre industry career soon after her wedding to Mr Ravi and she had about 6-7 years of experience of handling sales, doing wheel balancing and dealing with tyre companies by the time she started Tyre Professionals.

Right from the beginning, Tyre Professionals was designed to be a multi brand tyre store retailing customers tyres and tubes of all brands. Given our group's commitment to service, it was always equipped with the latest technology wheel service equipment

We were originally located near South End Circle, next to Bangalore Hospital. However, in 2009, thanks to the Bangalore Metro Rail construction, we decided to shift to a different location to ensure the continued growth of our business. We moved to our current location in Basavangudi in 2009 and we hope to be here for a long time.

We were a multi brand dealership till the year 2012 when Bridgestone was very keen to tie up with us and make Tyre Professionals a Bridgestone Select. Given the changing times and the business environment, we went ahead and we have not regretted it since.

In 2017, Continental Tyres approached us with their idea of making Tyre Professionals one of the few Conti Premium Dealerships in Bangalore. Given the premium positioning, quality and branding of Continental Tyres, we found the idea workable and in January 2017, we rebranded our store as a CPD.

Madhus Enterprises is also the first tyre store in India to offer computerised Wheel Balancing for superbike wheels and tyres.
